HOW DOES AGEING AFFECT THE SKIN AROUND THE MOUTH AND EYE?


The skin above the lip and around the eye area is thin and delicate. Over time lines form, rough scaly patches may appear and dark uneven patches may become more evident. These imperfections can be caused by repeated sun exposure, smoking, hormone imbalance, dehydration, lack of sleep, diet, loss of volume, some medications and/or environmental and genetic factors.

HOW DOES THE ANTI-AGEING PEEL FOR EYES AND LIPS WORK?

EnerPeel® EL is specially designed for the more sensitive areas around the eyes and lips. The formula consists of TCA (trichloroacetic acid) and Lactic acid which would usually be too strong for these areas.  EnerPeel® EL addresses this through its gel-peel formulation, which is layered onto the areas of concern, with each layer increasing in strength, allowing our clinicians to tailor the application for the patient, safely and effectively.


As with all of our skin treatments, patients are required to have a skin consultation including skin analysis prior to any skin treatment recommendation.

  • Can a chemical peel be used on lips or under eyes?

    No, not all chemical peels are suitable for use on these delicate areas. The EnerPeel® Eye and Lip peel is specially designed to be applied on the skin above the lip and around the eyes. 

  • Why is the skin on my upper lip darkening?

    Often termed the melanin moustache or sun moustache, this ombre shaddow can often appear out of nowhere. It can be the result of hormonal changes (the pill, HRT or pregnancy), repeated sun exposure or even genetic disposition. The EnerPeel® Eye and Lip peel helps to lighten and improve the appearance of this area. 

  • Which is better a chemical peel or microneedling?

    Both chemical peels and microneedling have a place when exploring skin solutions. Some peels treat more superficially, with others targeting deeper layers of the skin. Microneedling penetrates deeper than superficial peels but may not be suitable for all skin concerns.
